Yesterday I was looking at some beautiful photos on Flickr of the towns in NE Japan before the tsunami, mainly Minami-Sanriku and the little island of Shizugawa. The girl who did the pictures teaches school in Japan, is sometimes in SF but usually there. I wanted to leave a comment "Hope you're okay" but thought maybe the worst happened to her.
Then today I look on MSNBC news. There are 2 reunions, an elderly couple who finds some loved ones, then a video of a lady named Canon Purdy reunited with her family in San Jose by Ann Curry of the Today Show, via Twitter. I'm watching the video, and OMG, that bleached-blonde hair--that's HER, my Flickr lady !!! She and her friends schoolteachers are fine, went to higher ground. Hopefully so are the kids. Now her hair is dark red :)
So I know GOD does MIRACLES. Praying for her with her decision to stay and help the people there rather than come home right away. Praying for the beauty of those places to return, just unbelievably beautiful. Praying for all the survivors.
